Jim, I would bet for a car with a roll cage. It doesn't seem to be a Kyosho driver (unless it is for a onroad car???), and it's not an Hirobo driver as well...

Yeah, and if you don't know with what it was originally, it may be super hard to find nowadays : many cars had replacement because original parts were super difficult to find, and it becomes messy. I do have a repro Kyosho driver to put on my Hirobo Bearcat SS, just because I can't find any repro of the original one (and by the way, once the model of the Nichimo is over, yje Hirobo Bearcat SS will be the next CAD model)...

I considered it for a long time. Finally I got a new Tamiya buggy!
This time a Thunder Shot 2022! Unfortunataly a physical shop which probably could provide one, went bankrupt, so I did an online purchase from here . Shipping cost was unusually high, but it was on sale, so overall a good purchase. My plan is a bit unusual perhaps. I intend to use it as a 2WD runner and probably will use an older style body shell Attachments: |

Sorry but I don't understand. You should better buy a rere hornet. Here you have a funny 4wd . Why put it 2wd with a hornet body. You could spend less money.

Thanks! It looks to have potential. Location of rear body posts seems to match! Front shock setup needs some more workaround.
The point of it all is I prepare a car for future vintage racing. Maybe next year if it happens again. The idea is to adapt a car to the rules of NVC . In this case the Classic 2WD class, where mostly any RC car originally produced 1987 or earlier is allowed. Also 4WD converted to 2WD. That's why the Thunder Shot seems like a good chassis. The Hornet body shell shown is from my Re-re Hornet and all is still usable after 14 years, so money has already been saved. I have run The Hornet in two vintage races in it's early days, but it is impossible to run well next to other cars. I may consider running 4WD Thunder Shot later, but I prefer the simplicity of 2WD.
