Thanks Al!
Starting to make sense now, never had a Hornet and just took a look at a manual and some other unidentified pieces I have also look like Hornet pieces.

Started my very first semi truck this weekend and I love it. Only disappointment thus far is that the shocks are just for looks though they can be upgraded though I see no point, its pretty stiff as it is and I probably won't jump it........much. Never had much interest in the semi line til I saw the Grand hauler, it is much bigger than I thought it would be. Oddly enough the regular blue version is back ordered everywhere but the matte black version is readily available so I grabbed that one. My question for the group is since I am painting it Tamiya Pearl green (see below), should I primer with a light color like grey or even better white?? Since its pearl maybe it should be gold first? Not sure, any help would be very much appreciated

Dude! With the trailer it is approximately 1,30m long. I have the king hauler with the total tank and the aeroline with the container. Hydro shocks are not necessary. for your paint color, I think metal gray or gold métal. It should give reflects.

I'd either use white primer -> pearl,
or grey primer -> a light silver (like TS 30 Silver Leaf) -> pearl. 1st option will give you a slightly lighter version of the green, 2nd will be subtly darker but will have more depth & change with the light. To me the Pearl Green is quite a "cold" colour, personally I wouldn't use gold as an intermediate.

Thanks guys. I was in line with something like a light colored primer, definitely going to go that route. Can't wait to start detailing!!!

Those shocks were used in 1985 in two models, the Hornet and the Bruiser. The black ball and coil spring show they were taken from a Hornet, but if you remove those bits what you have there are Bruiser shocks.

Hey Flo!! Yeah, the Wife and daughter were hinting at getting me the lighting system for Christmas so experience tells me to wait until then. LOL!!
Should look gorgeous lit up though. Do you have any pics of your rigs? PS: I love where the bug ended up.
