Loving those upgrades! I'm a hop up man myself...
It could be that Tamiya will still rerelease some upgrades, although I think it can never be enough. These items were among the latest releases : 84256 Avante 2011 Racing Steering Set 84257 Avante 2011 Ball Diff / Torque Splitter Set I've heard many stories of Tamiya pinions being too soft. The Avante uses the same AV (0.6 module) pinions as the Manta Ray and I am still running them myself. Maintenance is probably the biggest key to gearbox survival. But a hard steel pinion (don't use diametrical pitch in this case!) would most likely be a recommended upgrade... They are the pinions on the bottom of this page : Robinson 0.6 module 22T hard steel pinion Almost only HPI pinions on eBay but this one from Racing Punk might be an alternative - although it's somewhat pricey : |
