Hi guys,
I have just took my childhood Dirt Trasher from my parent's attic. And I want to give it some upgrade. Here how it looked after about 15 years in a box: I am a newbie in RC as this is my first and only one RC car. So do not hesitate to give me some advices. I hope you will find this somewhat entertaining. |

Welcome and like that car, much.
Now some honest advice, keep it like it is, clean it up and maybe some new tires. You dont find much Dirt Trasher in such condition. oh and if you intent to run it, Beside the tires than some ballbearings, a steel pinion and maybe the hardened propellor shaft/drive cups/wheel axles, and perhaps an ESC. If you want to go hardcore have a look at some of my TF and TFevo threads and Edou's hardcore DF01 MR tuning thread. |

Autsch brushless and lipo, just saw youre second thread, better swap that 19T for a 16T to start with.
and you will need all those hardened parts and replace the dogbones, maybe for some gpm universals. are those wheels bigger than the ones that were on it? here are some part numbers you will need that will improve to keep the car in one piece with Brushless, Tamiya - 54048 wheel axle Tamiya - 53218 joint cups Tamiya - 9805551 drive shafts Tamiya - 3485025 (or GPM) Tamiya - 53791 (or GPM) universal shaft Tamiya - 53569 (or GPM) alloy 12mm hex Tamiya - 51000 high torque servo saver |

Thank you! I read a lot about the Edou MR tuning. But I will not go that far. I just want to make it run better, faster and longer. |

What will be the difference with the 16T? (I am a newbie ) I already look for some hardened parts. But I will upgrade depending on my budget. Now with the brushless and the lipo. I have spent a lot... The wheels are bigger. |

With the brushless setup you will have to start carefully, it has loads of power (perhaps to much for the DT) hence best the 16T and not too big wheels (more strain on the axles etc) and all the hardened parts to prevent breakage and wear. The 16T will be easier on the gears and the motor. oh and faster => $$$$

Welcome and nice dirt trasher, The brushless is for me a little Too hard for a TA01. If you want to mount it you need to reinforce all the chassis like transmission axle and in fact all the transmission. Look Edou advices. I have some TA01 02 with stock or modified motors and I have all the matters wich he talks . Very nice car. felicitations

Nice car, i also worry your new motor might prove a bit too powerfull for the degraded plastic.
