Man, that thing is awesome. :woohoo:
I think that if it were mine (only wish), I'd ask Rick (Tamiyagekken) to have a go at the camo...
The brilliant job I'd expect him to do would prevail over the fun I'd have doing the paintjob myself.

Nice one! But it's an old type KT. You will have to replace the gearbox and motor. for the new gearboxes and motors (they now come in a left and right gearbox plus motor). Also replace the track spanners for new ones they are not so good.
For some nice metal upgrades see at axells modelbau in germany.
That's if you want to do IR battles with it. For shelf its good enough. For some more nice metal upgrades check with Aber or Schumo, it makes the model look far more realistic.

Cheers, Bram

Here are a few pics of my KT. As you can see i am still working on the detailing. Like upgrades with lots of metal parts from Aber and Schumo. Also still struggling a bit with some weathering details like dirt rust etc. maybe thinking about giving whole tank a so called black wash.
First finish the metal upgrades ;)

Cheers, Bram

That is a seriously successful camo paintjob. Is it airbrushed?

Re: 56004 King Tiger Tank 11 years 10 months ago #10431

Yes it is. First tank got a complete grey primer layer sprayed, not just metal parts. Then a base layer of TS-3 (dark yellow) and the camo is TS-2 (dark green) and TS-1 (Red Brown).

Very well done. :y:
I am yet to start the first paintjob with my (RC Santa) Spray-work but being able to do a nice camo is a great skill to have...
