A Super Champ is on my wish list ... nice to see one in bits to appreciate the differences with the other SRBs - I haven't seen one close up since 1985

Nice! Dunno why, but the 'champ never seems to be as popular as the other SRBs on Ebay. Seeing the pics though, I might have to have one now! Incidentally, aluminium rod & tube is usually stocked at most model shops, Ebay & RS (Amongst other places) & it's easy enough to drill & tap without particularly specialised equipment. Like Edou said, invest in an M3 tapping set, you'll be unstoppable then!

Nice build!
The Super Champ is one of my favourites. I am one of those that do not count it as a SRB, as I think it is too different from the others (the SRB's) One question: How did you clean the gearbox parts and other pot metal parts? They came out very nice. -Lars Signature now gets correct formatting if you edit it in your Profile. Use normal BBcode if you want.

Hello Lars,
I cleaned the potmetal parts with cloth, a toothbrush and some soapywater. An old T-shirt and some hard rubbing does the job too. The aluminuim parts were polished .. I am sorry to disagree with you, but the Superchamp is just a 'special' SRB in my opinion . It has a 100% identical MK2 Sand Scorcher/F-150 front end, same gears, just some minor changes all over the rear just to make the special suspension workable. and Eddrick, the Superchamp still sells for 300-500 dollar, while the Sand Scorcher and Rough Rider can be bought for much less because of the re-releases Feraz |
