Featuring the same aggressively styled front end and unique sectioned rear wing used in the latter half of 2003, the new 2004 Impreza made her debut in Mexico in round 3. 2003 world champion Petter Solberg immediately showed what the 2004 model was capable of, leading the race until the last day when he suffered a severe 5-minute penalty.
