Very nice Lars B)

Chassis no. 1 finished, with new vintage wheels and tyres.
I've had the tyres from long before they were re-released, and still remember the pain of the high price...

So here we go:

Fitting the vintage tyres was a real pain compared to the re-re ones on the other chassis. The old rubber is much less flexible, so very hard to get onto the rims. Still, they got there in the end, and my thumbs are sore...

And the finished chassis, unless I decide to put radio gear in, which I doubt.

Nearly two moths since the chassis was done. So it's time for the body set!

As yo know I got original body sets for both chassis, but I will only build the body set for the Egress I'm keeping.

I usually use a knife and cut the shapes on Lexan bodies. I find that easier than using scissors.
I cut just one cut, not through the Lexan, and then tear along the cut. Works great, but make sure the cut is continuous.

Here is the under guard and wing cut:

The body has a lot of "shapes" which will be cut off, but all the "shapes" makes it hard to cut. Here I had to use a combination of knife and scissors.

I finish all the cuts with fine sanding paper.

Next is masking.
Not a big job on the Egress, but as usual with old kits, there are no pre-made window masks.
So, you put tape on and cut free-hand along the edges.

Then the entire body is covered wit tape.

Everything prepped for paint.

Painting done. PS-5 Black for the under guard, and PS-12 silver for the body and wing.

And finally the masking removed. Now I will leave it for tomorrow before decals.

Your egress is looking good. I also have similar problems with window masking. And I also find putting vintage tyres on wheels to be very difficult.

The Twin Egress restoration is done!
One Egress restored to myself completely vintage and with many new parts.
The other a very good chassis with re-re wheels, and a NIB vintage body set. This one will be sold.

Here is the one I'm keeping with the final steps with decaling.

Wing parts decaled:

Wing mounted

Body decaled

The Egress done and dusted, I'm happy :cheer:
