Hi all, ineed help with my 1980's boomerang. It has an at1 speed controller fitted.I followed the instructions making sure both lights on the speed controller are lit, but when i connect the motor it sets off and doesn't stop.I'm new to this game so it's probably a simple answer, the last car i built was a hornet in 1984 so please forgive my ignorance.

Hard to find data on this esc...
Only thing I can think of off the top of my head - did you remember to turn on the transmitter first?
But something else - how old is this transmitter? Could be that the trouble lies there...

Btw - a newer (fully automatic) controller is quite affordable nowadays.
They are also designed for failsafe situations.
I have had the same trouble with mechanical controllers - the car just went off on its own.

:woohoo:

Thanks for the reply.I think the transmitter is 20 years old, same as the speed controller and car.

I'd put my money on the fact that the problem is with the transmitter then.
There's so much more waves floating around in the air now than 20 years ago...
And when neither the esc nor the transmitter have any failsafes (they probably didn't back then) your car might go and have on life of it's own. :(

I had a lot of damage done that way and like to stick to modern electronics now.
