Another monster, this time Monster Beetle 12 years 9 months ago #1659

With all the bad things going on around me lately, I need something to keep me from loosing my mind...

So today I took my newest vintage Tamiya I recived a short time ago, to the wash room to clean it a little and to see what needs of spare parts to make it complete.

Just gave it a quick wash to get all the dirt and dust of from it, and later I will take it apart and clean each part and replace worn or broken parts..

I got the Monster Beetle from a swap deal of a Norcc member.
Complete with a Technigold motor, MSC, rx and servos.
The MSC will be replaced by a ESC, and all the other electronik stuff will be replaced too..

Onto the pics

One headlight with bezel missing

Somebody have sometime during it's life desided that the on/off switch will be good to mount on the lower egde of the nose cone
I think I gonna buy a new nose cone

Body is in a great shape, no cracks anywhere so far I can tell, but the paint needs to be redone..

Hellooo

Missing it's sunroof as well

Some bits is missing, but in general the shassis is in a good shape

And the steering retainer is still there...

The mounting ear for the bodymount is broken so the chassis rails need to be replaced

The body post xmember is also missing, pluss the body pin itself

Both driveshafts is missing, I will replace these with Frog re-re cvd items

And it looks like they have been running 8.4 battery during it's life..

The battery lid retaining clip is also missing

Wheels has allmost no GOLD effect on them and they look good enough for a future runner.
I will try to paint them with clear yellow paint to see if I can get the gold shine back...

All the main parts are there and for a price of a unused Axial CVD's and half HR Axial BTA kit I think I got a good price on this deal..

So I need these parts to make it complet again:

A2 + A6 chassis rails
Frog re-re CVD driveshafts.
BB1 front upper suspension arm screws - to make them match again.
G1 rear bodymount xmember
E4 left side body mount tower
E8 left side main bodymount
E1 atenna mount - I'm sure they a idetical to the TL01 ones I have as spares.
B3 battery lid retaining clip
P11 nose cone
D2 headlight glass
Q2 headlight bezel
G5 + G7 spot lamp + cover
E6 spotlamp mounting bar
P6 sunroof
P10 wiper
G10 electro cover
Ball bearing kit

But all in all I'm happy with the deal

This looks like a very good project!
All that is there seem to be in good condition, and I believe the missing parts can be found.

What do you plan to make of it? Keep it original or something "scale" ?

I will have a look in my Monster Beetle Spare Parts Box (MBSPB) and see what parts you need I can find.
