My Tamiya Hummer 12 years 9 months ago #1809

Got this from a guy who was moving overseas. He built it, and put it on his display shelf.

Great find.
Are you going to run it?

The body, did it come from Tamiya in this color (I am guessing it's hard plastic?) , or has it been painted?

Yes, I am going to run it. I installed a Novak 55 turn crawler motor in it, installed all bearings rather than bushings, and have run it once. Runs very well.

That is the color of the hard plastic from Tamiya. I have already sprayed the primer on it. And I am thinking of spraying it a desert camo, or maybe the original Tamiya military camo.

Here are some of the primer pictures. And one of the Novak 55 turn motor.

I love this car. Have one with a factory finished jungle camo myself. Looks awesome. B)
What's really cool is that it is one of the few hard bodies from the later era...

Definitely gonna follow this thread to see the progress you're making. :)

Making the Hummer look more realistic 12 years 8 months ago #1842

I didn't like the fact that the wheel stuck out of the wheel arches. So I looked at my TA02 onroad chassis and noticed it was narrower.

I then used the front hub from a CC-01 chassis, and that made a big difference.

I'm afraid the wheels are sticking out with my Humvee too!

 That I can see... I'm trying to make it more scale.
