@Stingray - I reckon that truck is an after market shell to fit an SRB. You can see the marks on the rear for the cut out for the roll bar and radio switch.
My "mystery" shell turned up on Saturday. After looking at it more closely, I reckon it is a circa 1975 Chevy (Chevelle) Laguna S-3 as driven into the swimming pool on the Cannonball Run: The front grille and headlights are quite distictive, as are the small "Opera windows" in the back (painted in on my shell). |

I'd like to strip it and give it a proper NASCAR paintjob, or maybe make a replica of the Cannonball Run car. I'm a bit nervous about stripping the paint though |

Is it thin and brittle? Otherwise the dot4 method worked well for me on an old body
