astute parts 11 years 7 months ago #13632

hello
I am new to the site.I was into the rc's 20 plus years ago and started up again.I have an Astute and was running it the other day and broke a rear suspension part.I was looking for alittle help to find where I can buy the part.It is the left rear part that has the outer axle shaft with bearings and the tie rods ends hook to it.In the assy.instructions it ia callout "C2".I would love some help with this.

Welcome, jccj579. That's a very cool car. B)

Looks like C parts for the Astute are quite rare...
All I can recommend for the moment is to save an eBay search for when they turn up.
Or you could place a wanted add here on Tamiyabase of course.

What exactly is wrong with it? Maybe the part can be saved...

thanks for the reply
it is broken into three pieces

That doesn't sound good... :(
Part looks complicated so I reckon it won't be easy to duplicate or replace with bits from another model...
Too bad it's not an Egress 'cause they have an (expensive) alloy alternative for that.

Anybody else think these (Super Astute) could be an alternative?
The car will lose the rear toe adjustment though...

I'm not sure if the Super Astute parts will fit, but I know many converted their Astute rear end to Madcap/Saint Dragon parts.
The gearbox is the same, so the arms and hubs must be replaced.

Okay, good one. :y:
The Super Astute parts look smaller so they'd need spacers in any case...
As long as jccj579 can get the car running again.

Like Lars mentioned, its easiest to covert to madcap/sd type. C 2 part not easy to find and these are.
Have some lying around but i still need to restore my Astute
But will keep my eyes open if i see some....
