Welcome, Dave. The Lunchbox is indeed a great car to start with. :) :y:
Btw - I'm more a fan of stick transmitters too...

That reminds me - whilst digging about for spider pics, I came across a pic of my old (Battered/well loved) lunchy! It will be missed.... My old Optima Mid was in there too

Well Guys, I found the bits for a stick transmitter and receiver.
here is a couple (3) of the job done.

Well it works a treat and a lot better for me to drive.
I left the old receiver in place behind the new one (for later/sale)
all fits great.
bye Dave

Excellent :y:

But did they really put the back wheels on the wrong sides in the factory? :silly:

They're supposed to be treads pointing forwards/downwards (like the fronts in your photos), so any clag gets forced out by centrigual force :)

OOps
well spotted, I had them off to do a motor change to the crawler type 55T to slow it down a bit for better control but now with the stick transmitter I think it will be back to the std motor. I'll give this a try first but with the wheels the right way round ASP.
bye Dave

Welcome aboard. Lunchbox is an excellent choice. Not the easiest to control but one of the most fun. and.. They look great. You can do lots of mos to them if you want or just enjoy it as it is. That lunchbox looks very smart indeed :-)

That's a posh one!
How does it run with the 55 turn in it out of interest?
What brand is the stick transmitter? - I've had 3x exactly the same as that, 1 Kyosho, 1 Futaba & 1 Tamiya branded. The double crystal holder under the battery cover is a handy feature, but the charging jack can be a nuisance & not all plugs will fit down the hole

Hi there :)
The transmitter and receiver are Futaba it's got a Ripmax sticker and RTx-2 on it.
It works great for me with the 55T motor, I am a bit long in the tooth (65) so helps slow it down a bit :y: .
I used to be a (model tug boat man) and it was part of that setup, hope that info helps.
bye Dave

Ah yes, it's the sticker that was throwing me.
Electronics in them are Futaba, but the 2x I still have are branded Kyosho & Tamiya.
For anyone interested, red is crystal socket, yellow are servo reverse switches, blue is a handy crystal-holder for a pair of crystals, & purple is the charging jack (For onboard charging of AA rechargeables if you're using them, centre-pin +ve). All hidden/contained beneath the sliding front battery cover, which is also a good idea as the batteries don't fall out when the latch gets worn, unlike other types.
They're a bit "plasticky", but overall a good tranny, & I like them cos the sticks are short (Easier for me to use with my stubby digits!)
