Hi from London and an old Manta Ray! 11 years 3 months ago #17675

Hi Guys

Just to say hello to all. Hopefully I'll be posting some info on my upgrade to a
brushless motor system on my old Manta Ray. I used to race this chassis at the WLRC many years ago fitted with a 1/10 touring body.

Here is the bare CF chassis below with some HPI off road wheels.

Welcome on board :y:

That looks like a lot of goodies on it - how much of the original kit remains? The gearbox cases & uprights/kunckles looks like about it

Hi Jonny

Oh and the bumper :)

It used to be quite competitive on a tarmac track in it's on-road setup. I even won a BRCA B final with if once!

This is my old racing shell.

Hi Edou

I think the body shell is a Parma Racing 1/10 BMW 3 series, but it's probably 15yrs ago.
I painted the inside of the shell myself with an airbush....the flag was the tricky part.

The modded Manta Ray is fitting with these parts.

1. Hansell Composite CF chassis
2. Model Motor Sports Ali shock towers.....I think
3. Tamiya Ali shocks
4. Nylon steering swivels
5. One piece machined lower wish bones.....I've no idea what material or who made them
6. Futaba FM receiver with a fast JR servo.
7. fully ball raced of course

The original ESC was a Tekin 411G with a triple 13 wind Trinity motor. Back then we used 1700mah 7.2v Nicads.
