One approach I didn't mention was to buy several cars, then mix & match to make the best one possible out of all the parts on the basis that all will have some wrong with them, just not the same thing ...

Where this falls down a little is that a lot of Bigwigs have the same thing wrong with them - front shock towers top mount cracked where the shock screws on, front upgrights cracked where the steering balljoints screw in, missing technigold motor & sub chassis (battery clamp).

Oh, not particuarly well. Life got on a bit of a detour but now I finally got the time to pursue that goal
