Hi everybody,

My name is Edo - I live in The Hague (Netherlands) and I am a big fan of Tamiya.
Had a Grasshopper since '86 and my latest project has been to rebuild a vintage Manta Ray.
Which has actually almost been converted into a camo Hummer by now...
There's another vintage chassis waiting on the Manta Ray, so it will also be revived.

Hope to see some nice cars and will probably find a lot of good info here.
I think there's a great database!
Who knows - I might even be able to share something interesting also...

:)

Hi Edo, welcome to TamiyaBase.com!
I am glad you like the Database, it took some time to get it where it is today. But, rest assured, it will be developed further :-)

Hi Lars,

Thanks for letting me become a member!
I appreciate the database very much - glad to hear it's also still developing.

Don't often become a member of a forum or website but Tamiyabase was hard to resist!

Welcome Edo.

The Hummer looks sweet, especially the aluminium parts on the front end! B)

Thanks Falcon#5! :)

Here's another pic without the body on it :

I think the carbon shock tower is a great after market part also. Looks pretty cool!
The Hummer is ready to run, but I'm still upgrading it also.
Right now a GPM alu main drive shaft and motor mount are coming this way...
Both in the same anonized blue!

The front bumper is missing at this moment but that is also in transit.
I would like to give it even more wheel offset so I might be able to fit awesome oversized 2.8" rims and tyres!

Takes quite a bit of research - but the outcome is lots of fun!
I'll post the build thread later for anyone that might be interested here.
Took a lot of pictures while I was building it...

Thanks guys for welcoming me!

;)

Will do that! :)

I got some pretty cool parts that are still supposed to come in...
Found out a way to make the stance even wider by fitting longer wheel axles and thicker washers (wheel hubs) so I think that will look awesome too!

I'll definitely post a build thread from the start of the process (a vintage Manta Ray) and will add some good pics and details!

Thanks for taking an interest!

Hi Edou, just wanted to let you know that I am organizing a Dutch Vintage Riders Meeting on 15th May in Hilversum. Would you like to attend? My only ''condition'' is that racers produced before 1990 will ride on the sandy dunes. Drop me a line if you like to join, so far we have 12 people. We'll meet at 13 hours, mail me for more details.

BTW. Lars, you are also invited off course LOL

Hi Danny - thanks for the info and the invite! :)
Sounds like fun. Don't know yet if I'll be able to make it though.
Does a Manta Ray chassis qualify btw? It's a vintage from 1990. ;)
Otherwise I'd have to bring my hopped up Hopper/Hornet hybrid!

Did we by chance maybe meet on the web before?
I sent an e-mail to somebody that put an add on 'Marktplaats' a little while ago...
That was also concerning a meeting.
Would be (again - similar has happended before) a funny Tamiya fan coincidence!

:silly:

Hi

Must have been me with the Marktplaats ad, it has now been removed. Off course welcome with the Manta Ray, I hope many more old skool cars will show up. May be we'll meet 15th May, hope to bring the same wheather as the last couple of days here...
