And it's the Sand Rover on the Horror Buggy reissue DT02 chassis.
And some was VERY certain the 58500 should be a reissue Egress... These are the specs from Tamiyausa.com:

I'm actually quite positive about this one - it probably means lots of cheap body sets for - 1/ "restoring" vintage Sand Rovers;
2/ lots of rough old vintage Holiday Buggys getting a new lease of life; 3/ fitting to re-re SRB chassis & having a good looking, capable (albeit expensive) chassis under the shell Shame there won't be any of the original rear knobblie tyres though |

We can hope for the body to be like the original, but I fear this one also will get "vent holes" in the bonnet/hood to make room for the DT-02 damper towers.

The more I think about it, the cooler these new releases become.
Unfortunately that counts the least for this special number. I would have loved to have seen a (evolved) full option Top Force Evo II. Mostly complying with the original parts with some new upgrades - maybe a slipper clutch for example. And a whole new range or releases for the parts. Then it would be much more memorable or almost legendary like the 58100 is. |
