Looks nice, serious kick in the teeth that the price is more than I got for my real hilux though!

nice, like the gearbox, battery tray is mountaineer style right (pitty my old 6v accu wont fit ;) ), mixed feeling about the axles (no hexes and I rather liked the look of the rcchannel ones)

but will look good next to the old Bruis

Nothing stopping you from putting the RC channel axles on it . B)

They look good , wonder if rc channel new that tamiya was going to bring out
the bruiser ?. Alot of effort to make axles for an old RC ! .

Re: return of the Toyota Bruiser! 12 years 3 months ago #6656

AWESOME!
ITS 1985 again....wheres my old PU truck and lots of drunk GIRLS!

SEE I ask LARS for more details/pics/ect...AND HE COMES THRU every time!

NOW all you guys who have the OLD 1985-ones...I'll buy one from you for no more then $250usd now! hahahaahahahhaa
So much for NIB 1985-ones going for $3k on ebay now hahahahahahahahahaaa

The only issue is they used the older style RS540-powered 3speed from the BLAZER and Yota' HILUX?????
What was Tamiya thinking there??
And its got some plastic gears. The older 4x4's had brass, steel, and alloy?

I would bet you all, the next big BOMB from Tamiya [future-re-issue] is the BLAZER and the YOTA!
Same chassis for all????!

I AM right again....SUGG-RETAIL[Bruiser KIT ONLY] as much as a REAL 4X4 older Toyota PU!
MSRP $1300usd?!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
What are they[Tamiya] smoking!!!?? :woohoo: :woohoo: :woohoo: :woohoo: :woohoo: :woohoo:

Ghost riding the brush.... where's the driver? If you're gonna do scale/high detail, someone needs to be in the driving seat!
The blazer I could see, but the Bruiser IS a yota so I suspect it's unlikely they'll release a standard truck version.
Interesting they've gone to the effort of coming up with a brand spanking new gearbox & axle design & not robbed it from something else - I was half expecting a highlift or CR one. The oversize motor hole suggests we'll be able to use different pinions too. Nothing wrong with plastic gears, they're better at resisting shock than metal & run quieter.
Looks like they haven't done anything about the odd front/rear tracks, which I think is a shame, it makes the old models look odd in my opinion, in fact I think that might be enough to stop me selling everything to own one
