Mk1 Sand Scorcher "Sunday Best" - slightly custom 11 years 3 months ago #17763

OK. My "other" SRB rebuild. Actually not so much a restoration as the only original parts will be the front suspension. Kind of a Theseus' paradox situation. However, most of the parts will be vintage with a few re-re parts used (mainly mechanical). There will also be a few hop-up parts to improve performance and reliability.
The plan:
Mk1 running gear with correct front suspension and gearbox. Double bearing rear wishbones. Super Champ brass idler gear.
Radshape RC aluminium chassis.
Super Champ rear bumper.
Kamtec radio box
Kamtec "Baja" shell
Sand Scorcher wheels and "smoothie" front tyres.
Rear tyres - Parma knobblies
Non-leaky shocks all round - make to be decided. Suggestions?
Coil-over rear springs

Just got this:

I've already got the hoop and the gearbox bracket. I only need the lower bumper bit now.

If only I knew someone who might be able to machine it for me

Thx

Thanks Sandy. Actually I think the camera flash makes them look shinier than they actually are. I just rubbed them with some wire wool. They are not polished or anything - too much effort
