Why you're using the undercowl at the tube?
I've asked it before: Is it possible to use a 65mm damper at the front of a "top force"? Or is it to hard for a df01 buggy? for eg db01 is drivin' with 65mm front dampers and the df03 has short dampers too. |

I think 65mm will be too short for a buggy damper stay...
Not sure how far you can stretch it but I think anything below 80mm is going to be troublesome. The other cars you mentioned both have much lower shock towers (more like TA on road). If you drill additional holes, it could work of course. But might not look right... |

Sure, i don't want to use a df01 buggy tower! I'm just thinking about the strenght of the damper. For sure i'll use a new df01 tower. |

Technically 65mm in itself should be fine. As long as you use good shocks.
On a buggy it's important they aren't placed too vertically (that's on road) so some sidewards impact can be absorbed. |

I've tried 70mm too btw (that's on the rear) but they got the suspension close to the point where the dogbones start grinding inside the wheel axles (probably universals give more range). So you can't go too long either...

On the rear you have to use long dampers 'cause of the weight at the rear. motor, battery, etc. |
