I wanted to make white rims with my black terra scorcher rims. The result was disgusting white. I put them in DOT 4 for a noght and after remove a port of paint, I have a sort of grey marble. I put them during a long time in my ultrasonic bowl and I have a type of scraching texture. Please HELP! |

Ouch, sorry to hear that.
Rims are hard to restore, because they get beat-up, and form stress cracks. Unfortunately, getting them white again is almost impossible. What I would do, is paint them white. Use an automotive grade paint, and clear coat them. Fuzzy_78 |

I read your question again, and now I get what your saying.
Did you prime the rims before you painted them? If you have black rims, you cant just paint them white, without priming. Dot4 brake fluid will soften ABS plastic. Only use Dot3 fluid, and use it on enamel paint only. Fuzzy_78 |

Clean the wheels with dot3, then wash them and dishsoap them a lot.
Than sand them with number 600 to 1000 sandpaper. After this spray them with Tamiya White Fine Primer than, after a dya or two, spray them again with TS-26 Tamiya Pure White and let dry. You will have some gloss white wheels. Max |
