Very nice, and the metal parts are all bead blasted, it seems?

That'll keep you busy
Red rear lights = non-Tamiya ? I'm thinking that if the "mk.1" Monster Beetle shell, nose & lights are white, and the "mk.2" Monster Beetle shell & nose are red, wouldn't the "mk.2" Monster Beetle rear lights also be red?

Forgot about the monster Beetles, is that the one that has the same size nose cone that fits the old shell.

I've committed various crimes against correct nose cone-ery, by interpolation I think I can say that all varieties of Tamiya Beetle nose cones fit all variations of (hard) Tamiya Beetles - for instance: - Blitzer Beetle nose on "mk.1" Monster Beetle body; - Blitzer Beetle nose on re-release Sand Scorcher body; - re-release Sand Scorcher nose on Vintage sand Scorcher body; ... & I'm aware there's a thread on TB that says (and has pictures) that last one isn't possible, I don't know what to tell you |

much like that last picture
Is that pearl and blue metalic or just white? I did my orange one with pearl and then orange translucent on top. do you have some pics and details on the vintage mirrors and doorhandles I want to DIY some out of alloy or metal and plasticard. |

It's VW Alpine White and VW badword Blue, with clear over the top. Can't help you on the door handles as mine are homemade, and far too chunk in hindsight; I only have one original mirror - I'll dig the car out & get some better pics & dimensions for you. Might have to bear with me a while though, what I thought was "Man 'flu" over the last few days seems to be developing into something else & I have to move a load of stuff to get to the Scorcher.

Think that might do for starters, got a good inpression from that picture. like the lower mirror think I will try to make a hinge to make the mirror fold inward on impact.
Get well soon, was out of the running for two weeks myself not even enough appetite for some small restos. |
