This is the start of a new build thread, this time the FAV.
I bought the NIB FAV a couple of years ago from Jason's Ebay shop, and now it's time to build it.

Make sure you "Subscribe" to this thread, to keep track on the following steps.

Ok, Step 0: Crack open the box, blisters and organize everything




It is always vscary to start a vintage NIB build, opening the box is fine, but cutting the blisters are worse. There is no going back, kind of...



And then get all the screws and smaller bits in boxes:

I hope one of them will join my collection some day.

I feel your pain on the blister cracking. I bought a few cars to bring with me when I move back over the pond to Norway from the US. Had to kill the blisters on the Egress and Super Champ to be able to pack them. Took me a few weeks to take that plunge even though they will be built.

Ok, I have moved slowly forfaord on the FAV build, and Item 1 has been completed:

Attaching nerf bars (for a non-english-speaking bloke, the word "nerf" is funny... soory off topic...)



And here they are mounted:


Not very difficult, altough part A11 gave me a bit of a strugle just to fit alright, but no biggie...

While we are at it, here is item 2 of the manual: The rear suspension shafts.

As with all my builds, I greas and fill oil as the manual says, I have never had any leakage og any other problems with plastic being in contact with petroleum products (greas, oil, etc)

Here are the parts lined up for mounting:

Here is the trick to pre-thread the lower "damper" mount before assembly. Use two of the damper shafts for the job:
