Hi, I'm new here and will be working on three projects over the next year so... my first question, What are the specs for a pinion gear for an AYK Boxer, that is what gear pitch do I need? I plan on getting a 380 motor as it originally had, with a low count pinion since I am not trying to make a speed demon. Anyone with this information please let me know so I can order the rest of the parts I will need.

By the way my other projects are a new GrassHopper (waiting for it to arrive) and a rebuild of an old Nikko 1/18 scale buggy with modern electronics.

Sorry, can't help with the pinion pitch.
I tried to search, but I found nothing.

Maybe try to find if the same gears was used on other AYK models, and then see if any has used an alternative for the stock pinion.

Did you try the grasshopper motor on the ayk?

I looked at the manual here , it seems to suggest that a 13T pinion is normal, with a 12T or 14T optional.

It doesn't say what the pitch is, but being japanese I would expect it to be metric ... trying the motor from the grasshopper is a good call, it's 0.8mod & if it meshes properly it will tell you if you need 0.8mod or not.

Singray-63 When the Grasshopper arrives I will try the motor and pinion in the Boxer and see if they mesh properly. Thanks for stating the obvious that I had completely overlooked.
