Boxart painting of the Sand Scorcher 8 years 11 months ago #34518

Finally I got my Rere Sand Scorcher finished :-)

Just want other to know how I did paint it and also the mistakes I did make while painting it.

First I tried to paint the blue color at first ( used Tamiya paint TS ) , thought that would be the easiest way to mask it.........but NOT try to do it this way........ the white color would not cover over the blue....... so I had to sand it down again and add primer and start all over painting the wihte at first.

Photo of the mistake first and the primed body

Then you should paint the body white all over, let it dry for a while, my experience is that the Tamiya TS paint does need a while to dry.

Then you can go on masking it, I did use Tamiya masking tape and a new fresh scalpel to cut the masking tape.

Then after masking, go ahead and paint the blue color !

Finally I did also cover it with clear coat ( Tip : you can carefully sand the edges of the paint between the blue / white before adding clear coat, give you more sharp edges if the masking not are 100 % )

If you can't fix it with a hammer, you've got an electrical problem mate :)
