Re: My first run Striker rebuild 11 years 7 months ago #13137

Hey Manotas, my second Rc was a Blackfoot (which will be my next rebuild, I have picked up an original from the US) so very close to the Beetle as you know. Will love to have a Beetle in the collection too!

Ha ha yeah Beetles are great cars :

That's my freshly restored Beetle !

And that's my ongoing project now....just waiting to have enough time to start working on the body !

Sweet Beetle Manotas :cheer: I think our Blackfoot's are twins ;)

they all seem to enlarge the bonet pin holes too eh? It will be good to see these both rebuilt with the different ideas, styles, finishes and individualism of our unique personal tastes :) cheers Andy.....

Ok so I managed to rebuild the front end today, I also fitted some rubber shims to the springs so the front wont sag when I put it all back together, but not stand out ;). I fitted the rear trailing arms with bearings too.

also used an old wheel to practice painting the letters, used a tooth pic and it worked quite well.
