That's pretty massive indeed, can't you equalise with turnbuckles?
At that speed, any tyre will likely start ballooning quite a bit. Maybe putting some fishwire around them can't help against that...

An old method to avoid ballooning is to put tape in the internal face of the tires.

the suspension arms may be too short so the wheels might rub on the chassis
they haven't been shiped yet, but it was cheap, im in no hurry and its hobbyking.
should i put tape in the tires? i have some "heavy duty" duct tape that should work.

i thought of an idea, its an aluminium mold that fits perfectly inside the tire then you get a hot wire and melt it into the tire, wind it around a few times evenly to make them belted to stop it from ballooning.

i calculated the top speed with my new wheels to be 129.6 km/h
without taking ballooning into account using these websites

www.abrasiveeng...edcal2.htm
www.unitconvers...rsion.html

steps:
  1. using website 1: wheel dimeter as 85mm
  2. website 2: 86km/h to m/s
  3. put that into website 1 to find rpm
  4. change the wheel diameter to 135mm and delete speed
  5. click calculate
  6. copy m/s from website 1 into website 2
  7. bask in the light of power(or most likely your monitor)

the wheel rpm is probably different and the ballooning would change the numbers quite a bit.
im hoping for at least 100km/h

Your duct tape is very enough. And easier to put than the aluminium.

yeah i know, it was just an idea, also the aluminium is just there to stop the tire from moving when you put the wire in

If the profile of the tyre's not overlapping too much, you could try the nylon wire on both sides of the outside?

Edit - of course centrifugal force is probably largest in the middle (where diameter is max, especially when ballooning already)...

ill probably just use tape on the inside

Sounds like the spike (pushpin) tyres I once made for ice driving my Grasshopper. :silly:
