Super Champ to return as "Fighting Buggy" 9 years 2 months ago #33286

I got mine today, yet to get it out of box. Just looking at pictures of the rere, couldn't one use the original hump battery, there's people selling those still, the shrink wrap ones I mean.
I had an original s/c when they come out, been a while since then, could someone maybe list the differences between them?
Anyway, I'm off to unpack it and look.

I don't know if anyone's actually done a canonical list of changes, but from looking at the re-re manual vs memory:

Name
UJs brass instead of hardened black
Rear bumper stay 3 piece instead of one
Rear spring arms 2 piece & different design (& no longer have "PAT. P" on them ;) )
Rear bumper changed
Reservoir pipe lenght & path changed
Motor & Spur gear covers colourless instead of slightly tinted
Rear shock many detail differences
Lower chassis plate colour & slight design changes
Upper chassis plate colour & massive design changes
Rear bodymounts optional plastic or original alu.
Front shocks changed
Pipe clamps on rollbar
Stupid warning stickers
Steering balljoints brass/plastic instead of full metal
Front bumper info marks changed
Steering servo mount blocks changed
MSC & associated bits replace by ESC
Aaluminium hump battery retainer pegs replaced with plastic LiFe holder & wellnuts
Rear outdrives/hubes 3 piece instead of 1
Rubber switch boot omitted
Body info marks changed
Usual travesty on the sponsor decals, driver name changed too
Window netting pattern changed & ziptied/tapes on instead of wired

edit - antenna mount plastic instead of alu.

Not to go overboard, but a few others :
Reservior pipe colour from black to clear
No hardened / black steel front arm shafts - real pity this
Different uprights
Steering shafts 2mm not 3mm
Some subtle changes to the roof wing
Ball races changed to accept a bigger ball
The trailing arms are also a bit different, more square / chunkier / different metal
........
