As asked for here ( tamiyabase.com/...many#58971 ) some information about my DeLorean:
Part #1: Printing! 1. I found the DeLorean on Thingiverse, downloaded the STL 2. Then I scaled it to match 257mm wheelbase using MeshMixer 3. I cut it in 8 or 9 parts to print it using MeshMixer 4. I printed it.. (total printing time around 50+ hours, not including failed prints) 5. Then I sanded the connecting surfaces and glued it together Part #2 coming up... |

Part #3: Vacuum Forming
Wooden box with lots of holes. Drilling them was so boring. On the side a 35mm hole to connect the vacuumer. Two Rowi Heaters in a 60cm tall box. On top a frame with PETG clamped in After the vacuum forming (not fully filled and sanded). Numbers: Around 140-150°C works pretty good. |
