24 hours later I removed the cockpit from the brake fluid, the paint had just fell off it, a quick wash off and not a bad result
It was now apparent that it was quite badly warped, the two seat backs should be parallel and they are no where near that haha So out with the heat gun and a while later it is done and back to shape, I also improvised and used some Ariel tube to replace the missing steering wheel and a random bit of plastic I found for the gear stick, all in all not a bad result me thinks |

Time to get some original wheels and tires for it, easy I thought until I started looking, finally found a nice set of four rims in Spain , once I knew they were in their way I then bought a set of rally block tyres because it seemed the original paddle spike tyres were impossible to find nowadays , job done, or so I thought, the rims turned up and in a nice condition
And then the rubber turned up Time to put the tyres on the rims, it was then I found out I should have done some research 58112 rims are not the same as later escort cosworth rims which are standard touring car size rims . The 58112 rims are in fact smaller in diameter than the later standard size rims 58112 are 44mm diameter Standard are 50mm diameter Both are 26mm width Time to do some research, after asking on a few different platforms I was lead to believe M series rally tires would fit, after a bit more research it transpired that the 58112 rims were in effect 1/12 QD sized rims, which as it would happen these were fitted with amongst others things, with paddle spike tyres, yayyyy I eventually tracked a pair of front and rears (on QD rims) BNIP in the USA Eventually the have turned up and now for the moment of truth And a massive sigh of relief, they fit So at long last I have the right wheels and tyres for the 58112, a lesson learned tho, always do your research

Hi, I've got the windscreen of a Subaru Brat in similar condition, do you think this method would work on it ? You've really saved that shell, amazing work. |

I don’t see why it would not work, all you are doing is making the surface as near to smooth as it was, I’ve got a brat that has had the sunroof glass painted on the inside so I will most probably have to do the same if it was poly paint, it will have etched in

Time to sort out the awful misscolouration on the iconic rear spoiler
I think the car was in the sun in a smokey room for many a year, I tried cleaning with various different methods to no avail, so the only option left is to mask off the original decals and repaint the white and blue Turned out rather well

Well done buddy and that window came up a treat Nice decal placement on the roof, Have you put something on the inside too to avoid them sagging in to the holes?
If you can't fix it with a hammer, you've got an electrical problem mate
