Never had an issue getting the c-clips off straight on my Bigpig ... finding them again is something else though

I learned the hard way to tape down a strong magnet on the most likely trajectory - that ups the capture/find rate from 10% to 80% ... also useful for fitting - there's some chance then of stopping the clips making a bid for freedom...

Now in the process of rounding up parts to sort the incorrect front upright and suspension bits.
Already sourced an original ball joint bag so they are correct and not rere hex ones.
Original pressed parts bag arrived today mainly for the suspension bits but also the added bonus of a new roof to replace the bent one and gear box plate which was also missing.
Interesting to note it is silver, the rere one is black. I've never seen that mentioned in the differences between vintage and rere

What do you mean by gear box plate?

It's a small metal plate which it at the bottom of the rear gearbox which then has a nut tightened to it, I'll post a pic with my next update

That's the one :)
Also worth noting, it does not come in the pressed parts bag on the rere

Aha!
The "screw guard" on the original, and the "gearbox guard" on the re-re.
I didn't know they were different as I haven't seen the re-re part ;-)

Yes, that's right. On the re-re it's in the "screw pin bag".

Btw. I have no idea what that part is good for, as it isn't present on the Supershot or the Boomerang.... Makes me wonder why they bothered on the re-re Hotshot.....

Rere part is black, original is silver. The original is slightly thicker too.

Here's a couple of poor photos showing where Ive got to.
The rear is complete, the front is as complete as I can get until parts arrive in the post :(

Sorted out the electrics, although its not going to be a runner I plugged in a battery and was pleased that everything worked perfectly.
Its not had any power for about 10 years. I was'nt expecting it to run as it was all covered in grease and dirt, the tub was as dirty inside as the photos show on the outside!

Chassis all cleaned up inside

Making progress.... pretty much on hold now until parts arrive apart from fitting the wheels, bumper and battery holders

I think its going to have to have a new body and repro stickers to complete everything :)
