Weather on Saturday was quite good so I managed to get some more primer on the hull, but it's been downhill since then so I've been indoors, doing the detail painting on the two cabins.
1/18 really isn't my scale, so it won't bear close inspection, but giving it a light wash with hull red has made it look a bit more 3-dimensional from a distance. As I worked from many different sources, rather than modelling it on a specific boat, I've given it a non-specific number (000) & will just add "RNLB TYNE CLASS" on the side where a name would ordinarily be. I also have some blue & white safety signs to make up for the cabin doors. |

Only just seen this thread, wow that detail is really impressive. I think I'll have another look over on the computer and I'm on the mobile right now.

Some work on the hull...
More grey primer (for deck)... Masking for red oxide (lower hull)... ... sprayed .. ... masking for blue (mid/upper hull): Blue sprayed + masking removed; foam bump strip + #s & waterline decals applied; I ditched the copper wire & used woven polyproplylene cord instead for the side ropes: |
