 :y:

Are you fitting another pinion? That's gonna strain the motor (and ESC) quite a bit more...

i just ordered a new drive shaft and a 17t pinion
i ordered the drive shaft because the old chassis was 5mm shorter than my aluminium chassis so the drive shaft pops out and grinds on stuff

i took it to school today(i have a short wednesday so i don't have to carry it around all day) for a proper test of the wheels and servo

pros:
  • tires have amazing grip
  • wheels held up fine
  • hexes work great
  • the wheels give it heaps of ground clearance, great for bashing :)
  • servo is fast and strong, perfect for the wheels
  • the motor and esc were only warm, around the same temp as the small wheels
  • the wheels didn't use much power so my battery lasted ages
  • i didn't have the center driveshaft in but with these wheels its great fun with 2wd, doesn't spin out and when it does, its controllable. i quite like it 2wd, i may keep it this way :silly:

  • cons:
  • recess is too short to run for ages
  • one of my wheel nuts came loose but i had my spanner and retightened it
  • there was a crack in the roll cage near the spoiler, the wheelies broke it, but i have a big bottle of super glue
  • the esc cut out a few times  i just turned it off and on then it worked again

i ran it a little bit before school started, during recess and after school 30+ mins and it wast light running, i was thrashing it, full speed along a dirt/tarmac driveway, wheelies, jumps, burnouts it was great fun :woohoo:
at my school there are a range of surfaces and the wheels go great on all of them :)
on sunday i put a new aerial on the receiver because the old one was frayed, no range issues yet :) i also made something with sipties and spiral bindy tube thing to hold it vertical to get more range :)

i replacedthe breaker db steering system with the warhead steering system, the ackerman plate didn't fit well so i make one with turnbuckles, so now everything to do with steering is adjustable. tome to set it up well :)

i made a new wheely bar, its heaps stronger
hobbyking replied asking if i want a new esc or bonus points i chose the points ill get 40.61 points
i figured out a way to get things heaps cheaper on hobbyking
  1. make the currency the lowest, in my case it was GBP
  2. add the stuff to your cart
  3. go to the checkout
  4. and check the bonus points box

the bonus pints are not a specific currency so for me they will remove 40 GBP, which will make the 60A version of my 45A esc and a roll of servo tape free, in the cart it costs 28.8 GBP - 40.61 points = will leave me 11.81 points for a future buy, or i could get the shocks as well and leave 0.23 points left
yay free stuff
