The suspension arms and the gearbox have evolved - tons of pics around the interwebs :)

Nice car! It looks to be a wedding between the hornet and a hopuped dt02/03. Can't wait to see this built Todd.

I don't usually buy brand new kits I've always been more of a restorer of my youth, so the early models, I think anything in the first 50 where my golden years. But that can prove a time consuming effort and having seen so many really good builds I have recently been buying some NIB kits, The Alfa Giulia, Fiat 600, the 131, I've had a Lancia 037 NIB squirrelled away for a few years now, knowing that when I come to build them I'll have all the parts there. I've even bought cockpit sets for each one to finish them off.
So that said I treated myself to the Porsche 956 and thanks to a comment and the link from Todd I picked up the a repro cockpit set. I don't feel a model is quite right without a driver figure. I think like Todd I'll look to get the correct graphics for the car, I've never smoked, but I feel like it needs the Rothmans livery.
Having upped the scale to 1-10th this is not a small thing. The body shell is the entire length off the box.

The 956 will not disappoint and be plenty time consuming for you! It took me a solid 4 days of PTO to carefully paint and then finish it with two pages of stickers.

FYI - MCI now has the new 956 stickers modified with Rothmans, but a bit short sighted to not include Shell or Dunlop. It's also very expensive, and I think he'd do better to offer an addendum kit with just the sponsors. Therefore, I'm glad I went with the scaled up original stickers from 58042. Whatever you decide, there's sure to be a BF sale with them this weekend. Link: mciracing.ca/pr...oth-decals

Cheers Todd, thanks for that, especially the link to MCI. I see what you mean about expensive, phew !!!
MCI is really expanding what they do and I'll say although not the cheapest, I'm glad to see him doing more to support vintage models. I'm quite interested in the 3D printed tyres. Hopefully Nathaniel's business is going from strength to strength. I'm hoping he does some rear tyres for the Sand Rover at some point.

Apologies if I’ve posted some of these images before.
I bought 2 Brat / Frog chassis’s or probably just piles of bits.
I set out wanting to build a Scorcher body on a Frog/Brat chassis.
Above is the first one.

This is the second one.
So as is the way I had to buy a bunch of extra bits and fixings and I ended up with this.

I feel like I’ve hit the wall on this one.
I do have a body set and a set of wheels and tyres.

Today I took what was left over and started to clean up the bits, at this point I’m thinking of building a Frog because it seems like the obvious route at this point.

My first BF Tamiya USA order arrived, as well as 30 sets of bearings:

A handful of paints from Jadlam Racing ... Vallejo seem to have completely gone over to their "new" Model Color labels black caps, making my rack of "old" ones look rather downdy in comparison.

The Tamiya X/XF colours with greater turnover now have two extra GHS warning symbols on them - they were just an "irritant" and "flammable" before, now they're "corrosive" and a "heath hazard" too. What's next? You just stick your brush in, and explode? ;)
