I may have a SP-1054 MSC on the way, with intentions of pairing with the FP-2GA in an XR311 (2000 re-release) and a nice vintage 6V flat pack :)

It really is crazy! There's gonna be a brief moment I feel bad for screwing something into the servo horns for the first time, but I'll get over it. We'll see if I pull off the blue films or not :P

Just put the servo horn. Don't screw it. 😜 nice idea to use a xr311 and put it back vintage.

So the switch set I purchased to use in the XR311 was mislabeled as a SP1054 (50054), which is supposedly compatible with the XR311 and I believe it came in the Cheetah.
What I purchased is actually a (50101) F-2 switch set, complete as far as I can tell.

It looks exactly like the 50054 but with a longer servo rod, which I can easily make one to the correct shorter length.
I'm not building it for a while, so I may keep looking for an even more correct (50010) for the XR311 and hold on to this for who knows:

Hi Todd, for the XR311 to be vintage you need this speed controller I think ??

Yes that's correct - the 50010 I believe. However the Cheetah came with the ever-so-slightly newer 50054 so it's not a stretch for me to use it. Plus it's listed as compatible with XR311 and all I'll have to do is fashion a short servo rod to turn the 50101 into this:

I received my new 3d printed part for the blitzer beetle. Another material and reinforced where it needs. And it looks to work finer with the suspension test.
And the rear body posts are better positioned as with tamiya part....
