Made a trip to Halfords to get some of their clear lacquer - checked their website for opening hours (0800) & stock (9).

Get there 2 mins early, at 0805 someone comes and opens the shutters ... 0815 someone else in uniform walks straight past to go and buy some breakfast.

Returns 0825, put awning out ... I wait to 0835, then see the 0900 opening time painted/decalled on the glass.

Go & do something else, come back 0855, long queue outside. Finally start letting people in 0905.

Get to paint aisle, no lacquer.

Get back home, showing as 1 in stock.


I suppose I should have known better, I've been getting 2 star service from Halfords fo the last 33+ years, I think that may have been the straw that broke the camel's back though.



ETA that's not Michelin stars, just to be clear .. we're talking out of 5

Well the story has a happy ending (and there's yet another phrase that has more than one meaning now ) - just bought 2 cans on eBay
