58015 Rough Rider resto 11 years 1 month ago #20136

Good evening,

this new project arrived today. A 58015 RR Mk.1

looks pretty good, only need to fix the roof and the lights are missing.
Think i am only gonna clean the body as ilike the look of the "old" paint.

That's a nice looking car :y:

I know it _looks_ like I'll strip the paint off anything that keeps still long enough, but that's only because I've never had a 2nd hand RC car with a hard body where the paint was good enough to consider keeping

ps @ Stingray - it's 4 lights on the Rough Rider, two on the roof that break it if someone so much as farts in their general direction ;) and two on the front suspension towers, which are fairly safe :)

 Sorry jonny. I think that the RMR is older than me  I never had to see one in real. Only on picts :y: :cheer:

That colour scheme suits it too.
Do we think it's had a crash, or is it a mk1.5? - the grey bumper says one thing yet the condition of the car suggests another. Perhaps it's already been restored at some point in its life?

+1 for me too
If you can't fix it with a hammer, you've got an electrical problem mate :)

Yes Eddrick that were my first thoughts also when i first got it. But the previous owner replied to me that he hadn't changed anything about the car. Well we never can be sure ofc :) .
But i also have read in some articles that only the early mk.1 had the black bumper and not the later ones. I already had a mk.1 RR but that also had the grey bumper, which at the time i also thought it had been replaced...

What do you reckon the hole was for? (Rx pack access?).
Are you going to do anything about it? - new lid, repro lid, chop the rx switch mount out of another broken one to repair this one?
That sort of thing depresses me, when the rest of it is in such good condition, just some monkey-badword mod spoiling it

Hi Eddrick,

Think i will go for your option three. Not want to spend lots of money on a original lid that's intact. For now i will leave it until i find a cheap cracked one.
