Wow, it is quite a dream to have one of these. A real beauty. I’ve never quite understood how the locking hubs on these work. Some day I would love to figure them out along with that original 3 speed.

Hi everyone, I also have a Toyota 4X4 Pick up box number 58028. It has been standing still for over 20 years but I would like to get it back into shape. In addition to the replacement of tires that I have already found on the Tamico website, I have a problem with the gearbox. The reduced gear is engaged but does not produce transmission to the front wheels and always remains 2wd. Is there a cross-section of the gearbox? Thank you

The 4x4 is only in first gear if my memory serves me right. In 2nd and 3rd, it is just rwd. |

I do have a copy of it on my HD though - you can PM an email address to send it to (I'm pretty sure that kope / Ko-Ping Hu wouldn't mind as long as they are credited as the author )
