At least on positive thing of Corona, you have some more time for the important things...
So, I spend last week for some body work and finished the second Holiday Buggy. Unfotunatley I did not make good pictures of the body. But it was cracked at several positions. Both front bars of the roof were broken off the bonnet, crack at area of the roll bar and crakcs boths sides in the rear lower edges of the side windows. But I could found a really good working glue which really sticks solid to the body. www.hgpowerglue...epair-set/ And here is the result. 3 more to come...

Fully understand your point !
My motivation is different. When I was a kid, I had 4 different type of cars. The HB was my very first RC model. Followed by a Nitro (Sim-Racing) Buggy manufactured by Simprop. Then I had the first cage buggy Land Jump from Kyosho (I have also one currently in restoration) and finally a Garbo Gepard III. Only on these I start my collection. Simprop you cannot get anymore, Lund Jump and Gerpard are too expensive to collect more but Holiday Buggy still makes fun and from time to time there are some worth to be restored. Here my next one (can´t wait to get im):

Man are you going to do 5 Holiday Buggys. EPIC. I love the passion. I kind of agree with Manu, it's not one I am a huge fan of although I have got one that will be restored at some point because it will be part of my collection. Along side the Sand Rover which was my first Tamiya. I guess you just never forget your first Tamiya.
Looking forward to seeing the rest come together. Way to go !!! |

One issue came up today. I cannot find any source for the washers of the suspension. They are not made from steel, seems like coated brass or something. And also very strange size. 3,2mm inner diameter, 7,8mm outer diameternd only 0,25mm thick. Any idea where I can get these?

Got a picture?
They are not normal gold ish washers as used on vintage cars? Todays Tamyiya cars have silver colored screws and washers, but the vintage one had gold ish anodizing to them. M3 washers has 3.2mm inside diameter so that's normal. Diameter may be a bit bigger than the normal M3 washers? Edit: Reread you post and I nowsee they are not of steel. Not had any of these cars so I'm not able to help, sorry. |
