It's always nice a touch of chrome and a roof bar

Started on bodywork; as I won't be using the side bumpers I wanted to bung a couple of the holes up each side - will cut/sand back these plugs once cured.
Note the warping, sinking & lipping around the hole I do want to keep, and the out of round & angle Material is not marked, but from the way things bond to it, the sound, look, feel & colour it's not ABS. Something close, but possibly not HIPS either. Also started on making a back for the cab, including extending the drip rail Attachments: |

Included box spanner is not that impressive, the M2 nut is oversize, the M3 so much so it slips.
Typical of the part bags labelling: More M3 nyloc fails, I've replaced these & won't use any more from the kit: Example of manual, lines are finer & darker than Tamiya, but TBH that's just a contrast setting change in whatever image editing software ... this front axle drawing does appear to be a slightly different angle from the the Tamiya original, but the shading for rubber cement (not mentioned in the close manual) is still there. Other drawings appear to be direct copies. Attachments:

Only used the one rod so far, ends were on at an angle & had be run up as far as possible. To get one off far enough to adjust the steering from ludicrous toe-out to merely neutral required a mole grip, so I had to re-blue the rod afterwards.
The bag the shocks came had completely failed to contain any of the leaked oil. Shock, completely dismantled. Superficially similar to the Tamiya ones, but these have a removeable seal cap, so the seals are replaceable. They were already hard & squashed, the shafts are undersized, the threads are poor, managing to feel both gritty and loose at the same time. T'internet suggests one seal wasn't enough to seal, so I put two in there, at the expense of the cap not going on all the way. Attachments: |

Shock almost finished, I left the external springs on (not present on the Tamiya version).
First double page spread in the manual sees the springs attached to the axles. The radius arms aren't held in, and rattle just like my real Bruiser Second double page fixes the axles, springs & dampers to the chassis. Also the front underguard, but there isn't enough thread on the U-bolts to fit them as instructed - I'll take the nylocs off & use regular nuts & threadlock. Attachments: |

Flipping heck, how many Steve Wonders is it possible to cramp into one factory??
I mean it is fiaxable, but that should be taken care off before they leave the manufacturer..
