Got the 2nd colour on - this is what it looks like after two whole jars of paint & lots of thinners spread over 5 coats (photo in diffuse daylight):

... and with is what it looks like indoors under a "daylight" bulb

I mention it because not only are those two colours quite different, _neither_ is an accurate representation of the way it's come out. My brief was to match the colours on the box (a vintage body set rather than a Scorcher kit) & it does that really well - I just can't show it :silly:

edit - one bleed will need attention (as will one thunderfly with a fatal attraction for tacky paint), I'll leave it for a week or so before giving it a very light tickling with high # wet & dry paper. After that the next step is line tape & clear coat.

I've had a go at the licence plates:

Started by spraying yellow...

... then clearcoat ...

... then airbrushed X-3 Royal Blue ...

... sanding off the blue on the raised letters left a few bits needing touching in ...

... drew up some tags for the back plate:

All done:

Nice :y:
If you can't fix it with a hammer, you've got an electrical problem mate :)

Interresting approach to finishing the licence plates, and a good result.
