We talked about it with Marc . It is horrible. Desappointing. 

Well I thought it was kind of cool, I want to see a bit more about the planned upgrades though

I am angry with the tamiya models name now. Where is the avante here? The avante was a very advanced model. And profiled like a f1 .
here are wheele covers. It is ridiculous to name this car avante... 

Few things that come to my mind:

• I don't care about the name... And i'm not sure the colors are right for the body, I neither like it or dislike it...
• There is a driver, and I think it is a good thing. I like buggies when they have a driver
• Fenders makes me thinking about a super seven reincarnation : that could have been a really different good looking buggy. The font inboard suspension may open a ton of possibilities for alternative bodies
• In terms of proportions, it makes me thinking to an Ariel Atom... Do this with a Javelin like roll cage, and I would probably love it

Body and wheels aside, it may be much more interesting that it looks at first. I want to see the chassis in detail, but it looks promising, even though it may miss a slipper clutch, a lipo cut off capable ESC and some other elements... I'm just afraid the pricing of this thing may drive us nuts...
 

Asides from the name this is one of the most imaginative things Tamiya has done in a while, personally I like the body and odd mudguards, it could be more exciting but the reality is people aren’t going to make kits like they used to …

You know what I would really love someone to get hold of and make a re re..

Build a real avante is an adventure. I restore my dad's one and it was awesome. Most of aloy, frp carbone etc.  It's like build a 3 speed or a truck. This fake avante can be an amazing efficient chassis but plenty of plastic. It's nothing more than the hopuped ta02sw version or a tfe rere. I am disgusted. I am thinking that tamiya is loosing its valors. New versions are only colored ones blue, black red white chrome editions.... And prices are up for nothing.
