Mmm... normally Jason's Store is still a good option, even with the lack of general communication.
Prices, shipping time and quick response to a request for combined shipping usually persuade me to order there.
But lately the prices have seemed to be shifting towards shipping cost a bit...
And now they're gonna make me wait (at least) two days before I can pay at all!
Really don't feel for coughing up $11 shipping for a sprue tree and an antenna.
With regular mail that is!

Oh yeah, first time I ordered some small bits at Etamiya ... I'll update how that goes.
I noticed that shipping cost (yep, that again - I'm Dutch. Lol) increases a lot faster than at RcMart for example.
And then you get unregistered mail as the basic option...

What I found to be annoying was that I could only change my status from "female" to "male" if I entered my date of birth.
Why is that obligated? Don't mind much for leaving unneccessary personal info on a "random" website.
Many are easily hacked...
And I don't think their customers are mostly female so why is that the initial setting?

On the upside - they do carry a lot of parts. And just restocked on what I was looking for. :cheer:

Okay, maybe I was a bit impatient with jr-rc. Normally they're quicker though. Which is one of the things that appeal.
And as long as a Top Force J tree is about $8, I can live with the postage that is ultimately asked.

I am keen on low shipment cost though (representing the actual fees)...
Reckon that if I don't save $3-4 on every shipment and do 100 transactions over time, I could have bought another great car!
I'd rather spend it on solid material than on fugaciousness (that word I googled)!

Surprisingly I got a tracking number today...

No seller like Lightwater Models though. Highest scores in every aspect.
They even went so far to take some parts off eBay for a while so I could get the funds rounded up.
That way I didn't have to miss out on the last bag that was available...

:cheer:

On the subject of shipping cost again - other shops that I prefer in that respect are Banzai (very affordable) and RcMart.
Asiatees have a very appealing deal as well.

Hi y'all,

Kalfakis Tamiya shop

I saw this guy plugging his shop on TC.
Haven't dealt with him directly but I actually did receive my Dirt Trasher shell from him through someone else.
It's in Greece so I couldn't say much about shipping cost or travel speed.
There seem to be some nice kits in the shop at least...

I've moved the post into this topic... so if anybody has ever dealt with this seller I'd really like to hear it! ;)
From the shipment of Dirt Trasher shells I only recollect the travel time being quite long.

Edit - and the price being reasonable.

I am the only one getting sick and tired of "certified" sellers on eBay making the most of combined shipping?
I won't name any names (yet), but :

One manual shipped - 3GBP...
Three manuals - 8GBP instead of 9.
Really? What a great gesture on 39GBP total.

Two pairs of crystals shipped together - $5,28.
Two pinions - also $5,28.
Combined shipping for all four - $12,95.
Are you kidding me? Like your customers to come back much?

Good thing we only have this emoticon finger. :y:

Awesome - the latter just lowered shipping to $7 after I sent them a message! :cheer:
That makes loyal customers...

Can't really protest too much about the first example because I was willing enough to pay.
The story is a bit longer though and started with waiting over a week for a disappoiting answer...

The other guys just made my day though.

Lightwater models (Ebay Victor101) have been great for me too, but I have to say that JK-RC (Ebay melianw) have been fantastic, with a more personal interest/service for their regular customers.

Regarding the male/female & date of birth for registration thing with that Hong Kong shop - you don't suppose it's porn-spam related do you? eg if you're male & above a certain age you'll get hounded with viagra ads etc?
I really don't like giving any details online, I very nearly didn't register for Tamiyabase when the download section became members only all those years ago!
