Let's see what happens... I ran ComboFix and it did seem to fiddle with volsnap.sys.
For some strange reason it deleted msconfig.exe though which is quite annoying.
Reading afterwards that running that program without a good viewing of the diagnostics logs isn't recommended.



Wonder where it came from then - haven't installed anything particular and run a NoScript.
I'll have another look at your links as well, Jonny.

Ran Malwarebytes too and that seemed to find some other dubious files.
Think I'll stick with that one - used it before (on another computer) and works well.
Combofix has a bit too much lack of control over what it's doing and my computer's way too slow for Spybot...

Reinstalled msconfig btw. But I think Combofix caused my XP installation CD to not be recognized anymore.

Did I mention the site dropped off right after that message?
I can only troubleshoot any further after I get another computer I guess.
Not taking the reinstall road...

Ran a version of Kaspersky specialised for this as well - definitely no malware (anymore?).
Got another blackout for a few hours though...
Next time I'll check with my neighbours, if they're home.

Dumb question, but when you have issues, is it just this site or ALL internet, & can you still access your router? I just ask as my other machine is a spaz when it comes to network connectivity, it'll connect & stay connected for about 5-10 minutes, then disconnect itself whether or not I'm using the connection, & the only thing that sorts it out is a restart. I'm guessing it's a timeout setting somewhere, but as yet I haven't found it.... wretched Compaqs...

For some reason it's just Tamiyabase...
But we might be able to dig deeper into it if it happens again.

What happens if you just re-install your browser? (Firefox works best for me with this site, IE8's having none of it) Sounds like software problems to me, but as you know I'm clueless when it comes to that side of things!

I just updated Firefox again at least...
But good point - I haven't tried another browser with the issue yet. Will do that.

Is it me btw or is the speed of page loading very slow today?
Waiting, waiting, waiting... for at least 20-30 seconds every time.

Working fine for me.
It is always a little slow, but not 20-30 seconds. Maybe 3-4 seconds to load a page.
I'm using Firefox on Windows 7.

Speed's already much better again. Was the same with Chrome.
Wondering if it's related to the earlier issue though.
And it's still kinda weird I seem to be the only one having this trouble...
