Nice to see a build on a chassis that I'm not familar with.
Only chassis of M chassis I own so far is the M02 and M04. Is the blue shine we see on some of the parts a reflection of your xmas lights? |

They're based on Welch patent railway lamps, which were zinc (or possibly tin) plated steel with some copper and brass parts, some were overpainted in grey ... Any you see now are iron oxide / phosphate coloured, or badly repainted. Tl;Dr - no, more like old bare steel |

Paint update - much happier with the colour once backed with blue
Have peeled the extra masking off, some of the 3M plastic stuff had peeled/bled, but a bit of localised scraping with a scalpel has already fixed that. Also an inexplicable chip right through both layers, but a little of the Cobalt Green sprayed in the cap & dabbed on with a small brush has sorted that too Attachments:
