Hey

Yep, that's the one. Can't say that I am totally happy with the original body myself. This is the body my friend bought:

www.hpiracing.c.../en/17531/

It has a seperately molded rear (because of the molding process I'm told) and an option of two fronts. the SS and the RS, the RS is the one in the photo you sent (has the "closed" lights.)

With regards to the handling issue, I think when you 13 years old nothing "handles" properly  I think he just built the kit and tried to drive it.

But I think 2011 will be the year of seeing that car rounding our local track...

I'll keep you posted...

Mucho coolio. B)

And if it still won't handle right - put in a brushless, lipo and some ball bearings and make a straight line drag racer! ;)

This car is not one of my builds btw. And I think it's an F103 but that's close enough...

Okay, on with the build thread... :silly:

First of all there's one last update concerning the front of the car.
After the build of this runner I plan to reassemble another C11 to the fully original state.
For this car I had an excuse to find a replacement for the 4x42mm screws that hold the complete front end together.
I did not want to build this one with a crooked screw...

I'm talking about BC1 in the picture of course...
These screws are a vital part of the construction which naturally announces another hop up :

Titanium should not only be stronger but about 40% ligther too. :cheer:
I've weighed the original screws for fun:

So the titanium upgrade should make the car about 6 grams lighter too. :pinch:
It's a bit on the heavy side now but that is mostly because of an awesome upgrade I will discuss in the next post...

Thanks, cool to see the chassis - and interesting. B)
One thing I notice is that the front body posts are not on the "ears" of the cross. Was there another body on it?

I also see it has an alloy hop up damper. Nice...
For the part at the arrow (ball thrust bearing) there's a really good upgrade that's not expensive - a one piece #53136 :

This will replace the three parts at the red accolade and makes it much easier to adjust the ball diff in a presice way :

Looks like a very nice car to get running again. Very curious about the progress... ;)

@Louisbaby : if you're interested in (new) red A parts, I'll send you some. Free of charge - I have a few in stock.

That would be awesome, but I live is South Africa.

About the body posts, I know it had the Street Devil body on it, but Maybe when my friend striped it down and rebuilt it, he moved them by mistake. I know he doesn't have the manual, I then downloaded it for him.

Let me know about the parts...

Not a problem that you live in beautiful Zuid-Afrika - I'll send them by regular mail which keeps the postage low.
One price for all the countries outside Europe anyway... ;)

I don't have a full set of red parts but I do have A1-A3-A4-A6 for you :

But then you could at least mix and match a bit. Black parts are cheap any easy to find.
If you send me a pm with your adress, I'll make sure they come your way soon. :cheer:

The car is now as good as finished! I can run it at least... :)

I've put the titanium screws in the front end but I thought I'd weight hem first - the ones on the right of course :

Almost have the weight but stronger nonetheless! That's what you can call an upgrade... :cheer:
