If you can't see capacitors on the outside of a modern, volume production motor, they're almost certainly on the inside

I had a motor like it. I always had maters with it. Upoer consumption and less power than a basic 540

The problem with standard HPI and Traxxas motors, the do draw more power and has less output than a standard Tamiya silvercan motor.
I try to avoid usen those motors in any vehicle. If you want more speed than a silvercan 540, I recomend a sport tuned motor. In some vehicles you will surprised what a sport tuned one will do. I for sure was when I installed one in my MO2 many years ago,

Like said Richard, the sport tuned is awesome. I tried big motors on my ff01 (a13x3) and the best is the sport tuned. Autonomie+ power.
HPI and ansmann motors are like said me jonny one time "take wires and put them in the trashcan."
