What did you do today? 3 years 6 days ago #65872

Yesterday was the first day in April where it hasn't been freezing overnight, so I spent some time getting things ready for paint - dusting, degreasing, drilling holes and attaching wire/screws, blu-tacking things to sticks etc.

Today I actually got some primer on the Super Brat topper, the two modified Buggy Champ bodies, and all the bits for the Pumpkin Lowrider tow truck :)

I puted the hand in my tools case on the poorest but rare and funny tamiya tools. :D
the drill and the router.

They are great, I love to see the old tools for the models.  I think that's why I collect vintage airbrushes. My last one was a Fischer by Lettraset from France. Got it working and made some parts to do it.  Do these tools work?  I had guessed at a drill but not the router. Do you have the bits for them? I'd love to see them in action.

I didn't do anything today with the cars, I had to work for a few hours unexpectedly which ruined the day for doing anything. I've just ordered a Flashforge Creator Pro 3d printer so I will be trying to make some spare parts when it comes so I spent a few hours looking through Thingyverse for upgrade parts for the Hornet and Lunchy and i've found a Lada Niva body shell. I had a real one a long time ago and loved it  so I will attempt to make a working RC with the 3d printed body, chassis rails etc.. I did have a couple of packages arrive and I pretty much know what they are so I haven't opened the packages yet. That will be in the morning when I have a fresh day.

Yes Lee they work. They are new. Drill can drill max 3mm diameter and honestly nothing more than a lexan body. Or it takes 3 minutes in abs. :DI have a vintage tamiya spray work. I live the airbrushes too. I need to buy a new one with several needles and nose.
thingsgiver is a super website. They have a ford escort mk2 for m chassis. And beetle engine.

I didn't realise they were new, I've never seen them before.  Do you have an airbrush now? Have you thought about what airbrush you may get as a replacement?

A bit afraid of the number of elements remaining to do under my desk for leisure activities, I did ordered something I found on leboncoin... Have not asked for much pictures, there is quite a big risk it deosn't make it, but it's something that utltimately would fit as static on the shelve if I can't restore/repair it... Not sure when it will show up, it's on the way, but I can say i'm looking forward to it. I'm already clear there is quite a bit of parts missing and will have to find spares (and that will be hard). 3D Printer is on the plan for the next two months, It may be very well serve that purpose...

Why the badword am I clicking the link for the parcel tracking every hour or two?
I buy kits to built and ru(i)n them :-)

Yes I have the tamiya spray work and a precision airbrush (precision is the brand) with 2 and 4 mm needle nose. I lost the 6mm.

Today was quite busy. Had several parcels arrive one of them being my new DumboRC TX RX. It didn't take long to get it fitted in Lunchy2 and then paired the TX RX. I got the tyres for the rims I had been using ( monster beetle ) and put the wheels on. Had to fix the red lead on my charger as the banana connector had failed inside, so I cut it off and soldered the banana bit straight onto the wire, It worked. I have acquired a cheap esc and surpass 23T motor. Found an 18t pinion so set that up and installed it all, charged my NIMH up, and took it for a spin in the gully behind my garage. It flies.  Got to sort out the body and I'm 1/3 done with the Lunchy's.
Had another sort through my tyre box and took inventory of what I've got ready for the next builds. I have enough for the remaining 2 Lunchy's and 3 hornets plus others.  Repaired a hornet chassis to an extent, I will either make an aluminium strengthening plate or 3d print a brace to stop the chassis cracking by the suspension arms.
Fitted a front servo into the Big Bear chassis and now looking at the next TX RX to get that running. I do have the original MSC but I think i will put an esc in for ease.
My 3d printer arrived a couple of hours ago so I have set that up and just got down from my hobby room with a 3d printed cube, just as a test. Sorting out some files now to go print some Lunchy body mounts and some sort of bumper if I can find one, I think I may need them after seeing how I drove the car.  That's it for now, not working till Tuesday so lots of time to work on the cars and the 3d printing, Just ordered a replacement drive for my pc as its died that should be here tomorrow so I will get that fitted and windows reinstalled. Will be another busy day I think.
