I can't say I've heard of using cooking oil & a cloth, but it does make sense, from the point of view of not using anything with abrasive properties or solvents in that could damage the plastic ... T-cut is an old-fashioned cutting polish that has both
Personally I'd use Autoglym Super Resin Polish, if that didn't work I'd use Autoglym Paint Renovator (aka cutting polish), if that didn't work, 2500 grit wet & dry, and so on ... then work backwards through the various products to repair the damage each step does. |

I wouldn't use T-cut on clear styrene - Ive used it on coloured ABS & it does feel like it's making the surface soft, so I'd guess it would cloud/smear clear styrene.
I often use it on polycarbonate without any ill effects though. Meths & isopropanol (Diesel, paraffin too) are ok with styrene, but enamel thinners, cellulose, xylene, petrol etc aren't. Haven't dared try it, but would guess nitromethanol fuel would go for the styrene too

For the record - I didn't suggest T-cut for the clear bits. Just to smoothen out the paint after it's really really dry.
Recent experiments showed that it scratched the lexan when I applied it by hand. Went well on the paint though. With enough water and slow Dremel speed it will actually smoothen out lexan. |

Like I said, I'm really not paying attention today!

Jonny's first bit of text may have been "leading the witness" a little.
I think I'll have to try out some (Dremel) polishing on clear ABS with this stuff... Worked great to get some fat scratches out of a C11 runner shell. |

Quick test of the light control unit from HobbyKing, sorry for the poor quality, I used my BlackBerry phone...

Well, progress is slow, but the details always take the most time.
I installed the original plastic bumper over the aluminum one, and added some old CC01 Pajero spot lights to the bumper... Rear bumper got treated to a military style towbar: And also some Land Rover approved mud flaps... The exhaust is just for show, I am building a full length exhaust system, suspended on rubber mounts, and connected to an old Xbox 360 controller vibration unit, to make the whole exhaust system shake... More soon.... My Projects:
